About Tbilisi Burns Supper
Robbie Burns loved life, poetry, music and friends. While you may not be familiar with many of his poems, you will no doubt recognise his well-known tune sung around the world on New Year’s Eve - Auld Lang Syne.
Tbilisi Gala Benefit Burns Supper is an annual charity event that was established in 2010 by Fiona Coxshall, to bring together the local community to enjoy a night of Scottish culture.
Today, it is firmly established on the city’s social calendar and attracts at least 250 esteemed guests every year (including ambassadors, representatives of multi-national organizations, well-known public figures), frequently raising tens of thousands of dollars for worthy charitable causes in Georgia.
The prestigious black-tie Supper features a welcome drinks reception; a 5-course traditional gourmet dinner with whisky and wine; a Scottish kilted bagpiper flying in from Scotland especially to pipe in the ceremonial haggis; Burns Poetry and traditional toasts; dancing to live music from the Glencraig Scottish Dance Band, flown in from Bonnie Scotland; a live auction of art and other unique and interesting lots and a Grand Raffle Draw.
